The empty bowl project

Mrs Shafers' classes will be working on bowls for the empty bowls project. The event focused on ending the community's food insecurity. As Mrs Schafer would say, we have a need in our community. This arrangement is a way to help our town in a time of need. All of Mrs Schafers' students will be working on this project through February and late March. They are raising money and food items for food pantries. Their groups will work directly with the chamber of commerce. The food donations will go to the Karma box that is in front of the chamber of commerce building at 290 W. Williams Ave. The money that was donated will go to the library to help their program. Last year they made 150 bowls and this year they already have 50 bowls prepared. This event will take place April 16th at the Churchill county library. Last year they raised over $3,000 and filled two large SUVs with food. So come on down with money or some food to donate in exchange for a bowl filled with soup and bread rolls at the library on April 16th.!
